Individual Sessions for Adults
Agate offers sessions to those who identify as women and those who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community (many are one and the same). Our clients come with a range of issues they’d like to work on, including relief from anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, relationship issues, and difficult life transitions.
Individual Sessions for Teens
Teens ages 13-17 are also welcome to come and sit with a therapist at Agate. Processing school, home life, the inevitably of approaching adulthood, and the desire to understand one’s own identity are common themes discussed. Please note, the age of consent for counseling in the state of Washington is 13 years old. This means that all teens 13+ are legally protected to privacy in therapy the way any adult would be. This goes for us or any therapist with a license from the Washington State Department of Health. If we are fearful for your child’s safety, we will reach out to the emergency contact if they have signed for one, and under the right circumstances, might need to reach out to child protection services if it is urgent enough. We care deeply about the laws and ethics of working with adolescents, and can guarantee that no other info about a teen’s sessions can or will be shared to you or anyone else (if when your teen goes home and wants to share what we talked about with you, we gladly support that!).
Couples and Family Sessions
We recognize that negotiating the path to feelings of connection, safety, and trust with our loved ones is no easy task. Whether you are trying to find fulfilling ways to continue to be together, or you hope to find a way to separate as gently and honestly as possible, we’re here to offer a space for joint decompression and understanding. We hope to help allow healing from hurts, effective ways to keep the spark alive, and the ability to know how and when your family members (both chosen and nuclear) want to receive care and connection. We know there is no feeling like being deeply seen by someone we love. We’re here to cultivate a place where you can find both autonomy and connectedness in your wants and needs- together.
Online Sessions
With the changes we have been met with throughout the pandemic, Telehealth has become one of the easiest and most preferred ways to sit with a therapist. All Agate therapists offer online sessions, offering both convenience and peace of mind.
Supervision
Sheree is a Washington State Approved Supervisor and can supervise all LMHCA hours, 100 of the required LMFTA hours, and 40 of the required LSWA hours. She loves the learning aspect of therapy and specifically specializes in burnout and ethics. Her hope is to leave therapists feeling grounded in their knowledge, and well in their practice.
Low Income
We offer a set amount of sliding scale slots to help make therapy more affordable. If you are worried the fee might be too steep, please ask and we’ll see if we can make accommodations. Depending on the therapist, we can charge as low as $60 a session when it is available.
